QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

To ask the Manager to outline the amount  of monies spent by this Council on consultancy services in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and to provide a break down of the areas in which consultancy services were employed - length and purpose of contract/terms of employment?

REPLY:  The information attached herewith has been compiled by Directorate.  Categories in each report have been grouped by broad generic description.  A generic description has also been used to describe the duration / type of contract.

It should be noted that the figures quoted herewith are gross expenditures and are not adjusted for any statutory deductions including Withholding Tax that may have been deducted.  Please also note that the figures have not been adjusted to reflect the grant and other income that was received to defray the costs involved.  This income would represent significant portions of this expenditure and depending on the directorate could comprise up to 98% of the expenditure involved.
