MOTION NO.1

MOTION: Councillor D. Looney

Mayor's Business

That this Council notes its ongoing concern with the tens of millions of euro being paid by this Council into the Poolbeg Incinerator project with no tangible signs of progress; that the Council calls for a full report on the history of the process and the future plans; and that the Council writes to Dublin City Council, as the lead authority in the scheme, to express said concern.

REPORT:

The Council is obliged under an Agreement between the Dublin Local Authorities to make payments in line with the sharing arrangement agreed. There are no payments due at the present time.

A report recently submitted to the Joint Oirechtais Committee in the Environment has been received from Dublin City Council. This report will be circulated and listed for discussion at the February OP&F Committee.
