MOTION NO.7

MOTION: Councillor E. Ó Broin

That this Council agrees to postpone any further payments towards the cost of the Poolbeg waste incinerator project pending a report from management to the next available OP&F committee on the implications for South Dublin County Council arising from the recent comments by the Dublin City Council Manager on that Council's future involvement in the project and the pending EU judgment on whether the project is in breach of state aid rules.

REPORT:

The Council is obliged under an Agreement between the Dublin Local Authorities to make payments in line with the sharing arrangement agreed. There are no payments due at the present time.

A report recently submitted to the Joint Oirechtais Committee in the Environment has been received from Dublin City Council. This report will be circulated and listed for discussion at the February OP&F Committee as requested.
