MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

Wednesday, January 15, 2014

MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

Cathaoirleach's Business:

Residents in Riversdale Avenue, Clondalkin have been subjected to antisocial behaviour and their road is now being used as a short cut to the Lidl shopping centre because of a broken fence.  This committee calls on the Manager to pursue the owner of this land to ensure that this fence is repaired in order to address this problem.

REPORT:

The land in question is in the ownership of the Council and the fence has recently been repaired.  The fence has been repaired on several occasions but has been broken down again as soon as repairs have been carried out.

The lands are currently the subject of a Part 8 consultation process for the development of an eighteen unit infill housing project.

It is anticipated that the proposed housing development will resolve the issue permanently as it includes proper boundary treatment.

However it is not known when this development is likely to be on site. In the meantime the fence will be repaired as often and as far as available resources permit.
