QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"To ask the Manager to outline what schedules are in place for litter collection, road-sweeping, general cleansing, and grass cutting in those estates off Stocking Avenue?"
REPLY:
Estates that are taken in charge are included in the Road Sweeping and associated services programme. There must be a finished road surface and operational gullies that have been inspected and approved by the Council.
In certain communities maintenance such as grass cutting may be undertaken by a private Contractor as part of a Management Company Agreement.
The Council programme includes a road sweeping operation that is carried out in estates 4 times a year and gulley cleaning that is scheduled to be carried out once a year. The programme also includes for litter picking, the removal of weeds and collection of leaves during the fall season.
Illegal dumping of waste within any estate should be reported to the Council for inspection and removal.
