MOTION: Councillor C. Bond

In light of a petition recently submitted by Residents of Beechdale, Ballycullen, this Committee calls upon the Roads Department to begin the process of closing Vehicular access to Beechdale Avenue from Oakdale Road.

REPORT:

A meeting was held with the residents of Beechdale regarding traffic movements and the opening of a new local Lidl store. The proposal is to provide two ramps on Beechdale Avenue and one ramp on Beechdale Road. These works are expected to be carried out shortly funded by Lidl. The ramps, which will slow traffic, are considered adequate and therefore it is not recommended to close the road to vehicles.
