c) Review of Joint Tallaght Area Committee (1) & Tallaght Area Committee (2) meetings

REPLY:

The following report was presented to the Members at the Organisation, Procedure and Finance Committee Meeting held on 21st November 2013:

"Background:

The review of Area Committee Meetings commenced in 2009 and items pertaining to this issue have been considered at numerous meetings.  

It was agreed at subsequent Organisation, Procedure and Finance meetings in May 2012 and January 2013 and then confirmed at Council Meetings in June 2012 and February 2013, that the 'two Tallaght ACMs would take place on the same day commencing at 3.00 pm'. This was agreed on a pilot basis initially and then extended further, however the current approval expires at the end of next January 2013.

The matter is now before the Members for a recommendation as to whether the existing pilot arrangement will be continued until the end of the current term of office or whether an alternative arrangement should be considered."   End of Report to OPF.

The report was NOTED and it was AGREED on the proposition of Councillor M. Duff, seconded by Councillor D. Looney that the existing pilot arrangement be continued until the end of the current term of office.

This matter is now before the Council for approval.
