MOTION: Councillor D. Looney

That this Committee discusses plans, as detailed in last month's Committee meeting, for a limited rollout of the proposed Traffic Calming Scheme for the Fernhill, Hillsbrook, Muckross, Shelton and Dangan areas.

REPORT:

As the members are aware the current traffic calming schemes that have been developed and implemented in the County since 2003 were selected by the relevant area committee on a cell basis. Due to the current economic situation, it is not possible to provide further traffic calming measures on this basis. It is necessary to re examine traffic calming such that a limited rollout can be developed accross the County which will be largely based on single street .  A report in this regard  in this regard will be brought to each area committee for the consideration of the members.
