QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
"To ask the Manager if he will convey the compliments of this Committee to the staff of the Community Services for their work in organizing 2 community consultation meetings in Lucan on the provision of Council services and other issues of concern to residents, to note the priority given by residents to the provision of accommodation and facilities for sports and community activities and the provision of a public swimming pool, and to ask if he will meet at an early date, in the context of revisions to the Council's 3 Year Capital Programme, with the 5 Lucan EA councillors to discuss these matters?"
REPLY:
The sentiments of appreciation expressed for the work carried out on the Lucan Initiative will be conveyed to the Community Team as requested. A lot of work has been carried out by the Community Team to gather information and to connect with the community in Lucan on the issue of community facilities supply and demand. All of this information is now being collated and it is expected that the report will be prepared and ready for discussion at the January Area Committee Meeting. The Rolling Capital programme was presented to the Members at the OP&F Committee meeting of 21st November 2013 and the programme will be a matter for consideration by the members in conjunction with the Revenue Budgets for 2014.
