QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó'Broin
To ask the Manager to bring forward a report to the December Clondalkin Area Committee detailing all the potential infill housing sites in North Clondalkin ranging from single unit infill sites to 20 unit infill housing sites?
REPLY:
The council recently identified three sites around the county which were considered suitable for provision of infill social housing. These locations included proposed infill development in St Marks Green, Clondalkin, and this proposal was submitted as part of the Council's response to the Government's call for proposals for inclusion on a local authority housing construction led job stimulus programme.
Proposed infill housing development at St. Mark's Green was among three Part 8 (public consultation planning process) manager's reports which were presented to and approved by the Council on the 9th of September 2013. In line with the prescribed procedure associated with all capital works, a formal submission is currently being prepared to obtain approval of the DoECLG to proceed to tender on this and the 2 other sites within the county.
Two other sites were more recently identified within the county including Mayfield Park, Clondalkin and an outline of proposals for this site was recently presented to the Clondalkin Area Committee. The Council now intends to commence the formal Part 8 Public Consultation (Planning) Process for this site in the near future.
The Council will carry out an assessment of short to medium land bank requirements to facilitate potential future building programmes and members of the Area Committees will continue to be kept updated of progress at the appropriate time.
