QUESTION NO. 3

QUESTION: Councillor E. Ó'Broin

To ask the Manager for an update on Nos 2 and 4 Lealand Walk.

REPLY:

The site at 2 Lealand Walk, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 was inspected by the Senior Executive Architect on the 11th July 2013 who reported that the site was in a derelict condition within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.

A Notice pursuant to Section 8(2) of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990 was served on the owner of the site on 2nd August 2013, giving notice of the Council's intention to enter the site at 2 Lealand Walk, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on the Derelict Sites Register, allowing a period of fourteen (14) days to make representation in relation to this matter.  No written representations were made to SDCC in response to the Section 8 (2) notice within the specified timeframe.   Particulars of the derelict site at 2 Lealand Walk, Clondalkin were entered in the Derelict Sites Register which is maintained in accordance with Section 8(1) of the  Act.   Notice of the entry in the Derelict Sites Register was served on the former owner of the site  in accordance with Section 8  (7) of the Act.

A folio check of the site , 2 Lealand Road, Clondalkin confirms that  ownership of the site transferred on the 13th September 20l3.  The site  and property has been extensively refurbished and is no longer deemed to be derelict within the meaning of the Derelict Sites Act l990.   Arrangements are now being made to remove this property from the Derelict Sites Register. 

No. 4 Lealand Walk has been extended and refurbished and allocated to a new tenants on Friday 15th November 2013.
