QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor A.M. Dermody
"To ask the Manager if there is any prospect of improving/widening the pathway on the Edmondstown Road? There is a particularly narrow section just before the Chemserve factory where a house has been half built right beside the roadway. It is so narrow that it is barely possible to push a buggy without encroaching onto the road. Cars regularly travel at more than 50kmph on this section of road making it very unsafe?"
REPLY:
There is not adequate width in the road footprint to widen the path at this location. Any widening would need the acquisition of land and there is no finance available to acquire the land necessary.
