QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"Can the Manager confirm what the status of the Barton Road reservation is in terms of the Development Plan, i.e. is it still an objective to have the road completed to Nutgrove area?"

REPLY:

The current Development Plan (2010 - 2016) lists as a Specific Objective / Long Term Road Proposal the provision of a link road between the Grange Road and Barton Road East Extension. In the circumstances however and having regard to current funding issues, it is anticipated that it will be some years before this scheme will be delivered. In the interim it is intended to provide new walking and cycling facilities along this route, the Part 8 for which was approved in November 2012.
