QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine

To ask how the Manager ensures that residents receive notification and information prior to road works commencing as per protocol?

REPLY:

Under our existing protocol, in the event of  Road Maintenance works involving night works or major traffic disturbance, the Contractor  letter drops homes in the affected areas to notify residents. Similarly where works in respect of a traffic /construction schemes are being carried out and are likely to extend beyond normal working hours, home owners in the vicinity are notified by the contractor.  In all such cases the Council seeks to minimise the duration of such disruption in residential areas.
