QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner
To ask the Manager if he can confirm that the boundary treatment for the Valhalla facility at Watery lane and Castle Park has been completed? Residents say that the work has not been done.
REPLY:
Landscaping at this development is substantially complete, with the exception of climber plants.
In order to facilitate the landscaping works it was necessary to temporarily remove some of the paving stones. These will be refitted very shortly and should take no longer than a couple of days to complete.
Plants as agreed for the adjoining residents are currently on order from a nursery, who has strongly advised that the plants not be delivered and planted until early November on the basis that if they are planted any earlier the plants may not develop to their full potential.
As previously agreed, once the plants are ready to be delivered we will contact the residence informing the time and date.
It is evident that there is significant improvement in privacy over the neighbouring wall as it existed previously, and this coupled with the planting of climbing jasmine along the Valhalla side of the wall (also to be delivered) should mitigate any concerns previously expressed.
