This Committee calls on the Manager to organise the installation of ramps and signs in order to slow traffic approaching Gaelscoil na Camóige on the Watery Lane in Clondalkin

As the Members are aware the Council has no budget for traffic calming ramps. Watery Lane is in a 50kph speed limit zone. Over the years the Council has installed a number of traffic safety measures on this road in the vicinity of the School. These measures comprise
Approaching school from Orchard Lane, Clondalkin Village
1. 'Caution School Ahead' road marking in advance of bend.
2. Children crossing signs provided on both sides of road.
3. Traffic Lights ahead sign at bend.
4. Continuous White Centre Line from shops to school entrance.
5. Pedestrian Controlled Lights at school entrance with a clear view of same for a distance of 85m.
6. Crossing point at pedestrian crossing patrolled by a School Warden.
7. Pedestrian safety guard rails in place on both sides of pedestrian crossing.
8. School keep clear markings (zig zag) on both sides of road at school entrance.
Approaching school from Woodford
1. Pedestrian Controlled Lights at Riversdale Estate.
2. Continuous White Centre Line from these lights to school entrance.
3. 'Caution School Ahead' road marking.

5. Traffic calming ramp at entrance to Riverside Apartments approx 54m in advance of school entrance.

7. Double yellow lines installed on both sides of entrance into St. Killian's Park.
To further enhance safety in the vicinity of this school it is proposed to provide the following additional measures:-
a) Reduce the speed limit from 50kph to a Periodic Special Limit of 30kph.
b) Provide an on road 'slow' marking in advance of bend.
