QUESTION NO. 6
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Manager for an update on the Greater Dublin Agglomeration Noise Plan and the next steps to be taken in addressing noise pollution identified through the mapping exercise?
REPLY:
The Dublin Agglomeration Noise mapping plan 2013 - 2018 has just been completed following a 6 week period of public consultation during the summer. It has now been forwarded to the Environmental Protection Agency for their final comments with a commencement date of 1st December next. The key statistics for South Dublin are found in section 5.7.2 on page 28 of the plan which shows an overall reduction in noise levels throughout the region. The key summary of actions and strategies are contained at the front of the document while section 7 includes the next steps on mitigation measures for noise reduction in the county.
