MOTION: Councillor C. King
That the Manager arrange for an extensive investigation in to the on going problem of speeding that occurs on Killinarden Hill which has resulted in walls, lampposts and Trees been knocked over as a result of cars losing control in the vicinity of the entrance to Hazelgrove Estate, Killinarden which has been a cause of serious concern for residents here for many years. That as a result of this investigation the Manager comes back to the next area Committee with a plan to reduce the potential speed of cars at this location by some form of traffic calming with a view to the safety of the residents of Hazelgrove young and Old being protected.
REPORT:
There is no funding for Traffic Calming Measures. However, the location was inspected and it was observed that there are Road Slow Markings at the junction of Kiltipper Road and Hazlegrove Hill. Additional Slow Marking will be put between Kilinarden Road/Kiltipper Road junction and Hazlegrove. The matter of speeding has been referred to the Gardai in Tallaght Station for their attention.
An inspection will be carried out with a view to identifiying a suitable location for the installation of rumble strips.
