MOTION: Councillor D. Looney
That this Committee calls on the Government to release funding for the design phase of the Greenhills Rd/Ballymount reconfiguration scheme at the earliest opportunity, in order for the scheme to be made shovel-ready in the coming months and to expedite the much-needed reconfiguration of traffic in the Greenhills, Ballymount and Robinhood areas.
REPORT:Greenhills Road Reconfiguration
The proposed road improvement works collectively titled the 'Greenhills Road Reconfiguration' consist of improvement works in the Greenhills, Calmount, Ballymount and Robinhood areas.
The proposed works will significantly improve traffic flows in the area, in conjunction with enhanced public transport infrastructure. The provision of proper footpaths and cycle-tracks will greatly improve safety features and encourage increased cycle usage in the road network.
In particular, the improved links between the M50, the Naas Road and Walkinstown will promote and support the economic development of the area.
These proposed works were approved at Part 8 and CPO stages as follows;
Part 8 CPO
