COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (1)
Monday, September 23, 2013
MOTION NO. 4
MOTION: Councillor C. King
That this Committee calls on the Manager to arrange when possible and as a matter of urgency to install a mobile CCTV camera at Killinarden Hill where continuous and severe dumping continues to plague the area and which was the scene of a dumped dead Alsatian dog recently.
REPORT:
The Council's Litter Warden has and continues to actively pursue the interrogation of illegally dumped material in the general vicinity of Killinarden Hill with a view to securing evidence to support prosecution under the Litter Pollution Act, l997.
The Council's Litter Warden has been requested to convene an on-site meeting with the Council's Security Contractor for the purpose of identifying a suitable location for the erection of a covert, robust, anti-vandal CCTV camera.
It should be noted that while a CCTV camera has, in the past, been installed in the general location, the pole plus camera were vandalised.
