That this Committee supports proposals for  a horse project in Clondalkin and seeks a report on the current situation

REPORT:

Clondalkin Equine Club submitted its formal proposal to to SDCC on the l3th March 2013 to lease land for the purpose of operating an Equine Club in the Clondalkin Area.

The proposal  aims to operate a horse club for members of Clondalkin Equine Club in the Clondalkin Area. The Club has requested SDCC to make available a site on which to operate the club and identified the following sites:

Lands at Kilcarberry Site A

Lands at Clonburris Site B 

While South Dublin County Council will support any proposal by local horse owners and the Irish Horse Welfare Trust for a Clondalkin Equine Management Programme, the Council is not in a position to support the development of any such proposal, through the provision of land at either of the locations identified, or by way of financial support from its own revenue or capital resources.
