To ask the Manager for an update with regards to Commercial Rates - amounts collected, amounts outstanding and amounts written off?

The following is the position regarding Commercial Rates up to the 27th.June 2013

Commercial Rates are billed in full at the start of each year but are payble in two moieties: the first 2013 moiety became due in January 2013 and the second moiety totalling €61,400,148 fell due for payment on 1st July 2013. 

The total outstanding at 27th June 2013 was €104,178,690 of which €73,208,334 related to 2013 billing.  Ratepayers can avail of a variety of payment options including monthly payment arrangements via direct debit, payments on account and post dated cheques.   Approximately 27% of the outstanding 2013 Rates have payment arrangements in place and 21% of total amounts outstanding are making payments in accordance with agreed payment plans.  In addition an estimated 11% of rated properties in arrears are vacant and potentially in a position to qualify for a vacancy credit.
