MOTION: Councillor B. Lawlor, Councillor C. Bond

That this Committee request the Council to implement a Standard grass cutting schedule for all public areas under the Councils remit in the Tallaght area.

REPORT:

The grass cutting schedule for the Tallaght area, and for the County in general, is based on a three week recurring rota using mainly tractor and ride on mowers and  is available on-line at sdcc.ie.  Due to the warm weather in recent weeks coupled with high soil moisture content and very long daylight hours, grass growth has been very rapid.  The Council is currently undertaking an analysis of all resources employed on the grass cutting programme across the county with a view to identifying any potential for re-balancing of resources as required and this will be completed in the coming weeks.
