MOTION: Councillor G. Kenny

That the Manager immediately terminates Cantour Equine Limited contractual obligations in it's implementation of the Control of Horses Act 1996

REPORT:

The impact of the recent High Court ruling has issues in relation to the Council's functions under the control of horses legislation and bye laws and these issues are currently under consideration.

The Council's consideration of the awarding, management and termination of contracts and any decisions in relation to same are commercially sensitive and carry significant legal and contractual obligations which must be met and dealt with appropriately.

The existing contract between the Council and Cantor Equine Limited is due to expire on 8th August 2013.  Request for Tender for a new contract are about to be advertised.
