QUESTION: Councillor B. Lawlor

"To ask the Manager to detail who is responsible for the roundabout at the intersection of the Woodstown estate, Daletree estate on Ballycullen road, and for a report on the planned maintenance of this roundabout?"

REPLY:

The roundabout at the intersection of the Woodstown estate and Daletree Estate on the Ballycullen Road is the responsibility of Public Realm Maintenance Division. Because of traffic volumes and  Health and Safety constraints regarding signing, lighting and guarding etc., this roundabout cannot be maintained on a regular basis although it is planned to carry out maintenance works in the coming 2/3 weeks.  It is proposed in the longer term to undertake improvements works to all the roundabouts in the Firhouse/Knocklyon area in order to improve the roundabouts aesthetically and also to minimise the need for regular, routine maintenance.
