QUESTION: Councillor J. Hannon

"To ask the Manager to provide additional litter bins in Sean Walsh Park, and can he confirm the number of bins in situ currently at this location?"

REPLY:

There are currently 19 litter bins installed in Sean Walsh Park; 5 no. bins located adjacent to the lake, 3 no. on the Watergate side of the park, 6 in the Park itself and 5 located in the children's playground. The Public Realm Maintenance Division has no plans to install additional bins in Sean Walsh Park because of the considerable maintenance requirement associated with these bins. The Council would therefore, not be in favour of providing any additional bins in the Park at this time.
