QUESTION NO. 13
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Manager to present a detailed report on the planning authority's activity with respect to monitoring compliance with Mobility Management Plans as required in line with planning permissions granted to school development?
REPLY:
All new school related MMP are required to develop a set of mobility goals and a timeframe for the schools' designated Mobility Manager to meet. This will usually include a requirement for the school to monitor the travel patterns of the students and staff and put forward measures to improve the numbers using sustainable travel to the school. The school will usually be required to submit for compliance, within a certain timeframe, an additional survey showing what targets have been achieved and further measures to be introduced if the targets have not been met.
SDCC will be monitoring such responses and liaising with applicants who fail to deliver on such conditions.
