QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

"To ask the Manager if she can provide the schedule for Grass Cutting in the Parks and estate Green Spaces in Palmerston for the next 3 or 4 months?"

REPLY:

Grass cutting in the Palmerston area is scheduled to take place as per the table below. The cycle of grass cutting is set at 15 days and the programme is currently in Week 3. It should be noted that the schedule is subject to a number of variables which can impact on the planned delivery of the service.

These factors include a full compliment of staff, machinery breakdowns, which occur from time to time, and weather conditions, all of which can vary from day to day.

In addition, it should also be noted that unplanned works also arise throughout the grass cutting season which have to be managed. The allocation of resources to deal with such matters does impact on the scheduled works programme but efforts are made to minimise this.
