That this Committee congratulates the SDC Sports Partnership and associated organisations on the hosting of "Ramble Aid" in Tymon Pk on May 12th, along with two other events in Lucan and Clondalkin, and that this Committee supports the ongoing use of Tymon Pk for promoting walking in particular amongst residents in the area.

REPORT:

The first in the series of Ramble Aid 2013 events took place on Sunday 12^th May in Tymon Park with over 150 people of all ages taking part in the event. Unfortunately the weather did hinder us slightly on the day but it was still a great success to see so many people from the community coming along to take part for such a great cause, and at the same time engaging in healthy exercise. 

The second event took place on Sunday 18^th May in Griffeen Valley Park with over 200 participants taking part in the run/walk/cycle. Again we saw people of all ages taking part in the event and it was a great success in boosting participation in Sport throughout the Community.

 The third and final event will take place on Sunday 26^th May in Corkagh Park. So far there are over 50 people registered for the event. It is hoped and  that the last event will be as successful as Tymon Park and Griffeen Valley Park.
