QUESTION NO.8

QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to provide a full report on the arboricultural works undertaken on St Joseph's Rd, Greenhills and to state the plans for later this year and into 2014?"

REPLY:

All agreed tree removal and pruning works for 2013 on St Josephs Road have been completed. This includes 9 tree removals and extensive pruning works to all remaining street trees by means of Crown Raising and Crown Reduction. The agreed street tree replacement planting will take place this November. The location of all new street tree planting will be to ensure an end result of a well spaced tree lined street. The plan for the St Josephs Road for 2014 and consecutive years is to remove and replace two street trees each year until all the trees have been removed and suitable replacement trees planted.

The tree works to date have had a significant effect on the street and the feedback from residents has been very positive.
