QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager if contact has been made with the organisers with regard to Tallaght taking part in the National Town and City Revival Initiative, and to make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

With respect to the above initiative in South Dublin County Council three areas have been identified by the organisers as being eligible to make an application. These are Lucan , Clondaklin and Tallght. The Council is supportive of any application made to this initiative. Following contact with the organisers of the National Town and City revival Initiative group it has been established that any application must be made by a local stakeholder group. In this regard the Council has been active in supporting and encouraging applications and has made available an initial draft of a potential submission.
