QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

"To ask the Manager if she will arrange for the inspection, under the Derelict Sites Act, of a house and site in Esker Park, Lucan (address of house and name of owner supplied)?

REPLY:

The house at 13 Esker Park and adjacent site have different owners.   The Council's Land Use Economic Transport & Planning Department has confirmed that planning permission for the building of two houses on the vacant site was granted on the 27th October 2009 (Planning Application reference SD09A/0248).  A Commencement Notice was received in that Department on the l5th June, 2010 notifying a commencement date of lst July 2010.  However, to date no construction work has commenced on site. 

Both sites will be investigated separately under the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  Following receipt of the reports, if works are deemed to be necessary to prevent or halt dereliction the site owners or responsible persons will be written to requesting that works be carried out.
