QUESTION NO. 11

QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

"To ask the Manager if she can advise what options are available to neighbouring householders to have a tree in the garden of an adjacent house, which they believe to be at risk of falling over and damaging their property removed or pruned?"

REPLY:

It would appear that the tree in question is located in the garden of a house and is not interfering with a public footpath or road. The Council have no function in this matter. If this is the case then in the first instance those involved should make their concerns known to the owner of the tree and ask if appropriate action could be taken. If such an approach does not work the next step would be to seek legal advice and possibly a civil case to address the issue.
