MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor J. Hannon

That this Committee requests the Manager to put in place as a matter of urgency a programme of cleansing and maintenance of the area immediately at the entrance to Rua Red, as its current condition continues to call into question our commitment to enhancing the public realm.

REPORT:

The Senior Executive Parks Superintendent with responsibility for this area under the Public Realm has reported that the Cleansing Crew for the Tallaght area include this location in their cleansing routine and regularly clean up any rubbish accumulating in the area.

Arrangements are in place to clear the weeds from the area to the side of Rua Red and this work will be undertaken before mid June.

Contact has been made with the Management of Rua Red and arrangements are in place to meet to agree a protocol for the management and maintenance of the open space in the environs of Rua Red and the connected public pathways to ensure that the area continues to be maintained properly.
