MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan

That the Manager agrees to plant some flower pots in Floraville Estate.

REPORT:

Following a recent inspection of Floraville Estate it was noted that there are a total of 8 flower pots in the estate located on the grass verges adjacent to the 4 road junctions.  All 8 flower pots were planted and in bloom. The flower pots were provided by the residents and the maintenance and upkeep of the flower pots is undertaken by the residents. In addition to the flower pots it was noted that some of the residents had planted the areas around the trees on the grass verges. This was further enhanced by the significant floral displays in the flower beds at the estate entrance.  Given the splendid displays that are already evident, the Council does not consider it necessary to plant additional flower pots in the estate.
