MOTION NO. 22

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That the Manager present a report on the possibility of organising for the green way canal path to be made accessible for wheel chair users and tandems on one day during National Accessibility week in December.  This would entail having the gates opened along the way for a specified period.  Could this be done on a limited but regular basis in order to allow wheelchair users and others with mobility issues the opportunity to enjoy the fantastic facility that the green route provides

REPORT:

The Council would be supportive of the proposal as set out in this Motion. 

Should the Motion be passed the views of Waterways Ireland will be sought.  As soon as a reply is received the Members will be notified.
