QUESTION NO. 19
QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
To ask the Manager for a progress report on work being done by the Working Group of the Planning and Development SPC, and local groups, on promoting and enhancing the sustainability of the Traditional Villages in the County, including Rathfarnham, Lucan, Templeogue, Rathcoole and Clondalkin?
REPLY:
The Working Group of the Economic Development (including Planning) SPC are currently working on the Action Plan flowing from the Economic Strategy agreed at the December 2012 Council meeting. The Group has identified the marketing of the County, incorporating the niche and particular local nature of the villages as part of an overall County wide approach, as a key issue for the Plan. The Group met recently on 18th April and a full report will be brought to the May SPC meeting.
In respect of the ongoing villages project there is a further full report under a Headed Item for consideration at this meeting.
