That this Committee acknowledges and appreciates the enormous community effort involved in Dodder Day on the 6th April last.

REPORT:

The Dodder Valley Action Group did significant work cleaning the Dodder Valley from Firhouse right into the City on Saturday,  6th April.  South Dublin County Council supported the group through the Social Credits system by providing litter pickers, bags and arranged to pick up the collected material from 8 different agreed locations. The initiative was successful in highlighting the issue of dumping and in gathering community support for the clean up. Since then a number of groups have continued to arrange clean ups and South Dublin County Council supports them through Social Credits.
