MOTION: Councillor J. Hannon

That appropriate action be taken to fully secure the former Cleanbuild premises on Bohernabreena Road, and to ensure that the site is made safe, given recent incidents with youths walking along the roof despite its defective and potentially dangerous condition.

REPORT:

Staff from the Council's Architects Dept inspected the Cleanbuild site in March of this year and subsequently wrote to the site owner requesting that they secure the site.  It is intended to follow this up with the issue of a Dangerous Structures notice to the site owner.  The complany that owns the site, John Ronan and Sons, has recently gone into liquidation.  The Council's Law Dept has been asked to advise how and on whom the Dangerous Structures notice should be served, in light of the fact that the owner of the site is now in liquidation.
