MOTION NO. 23

MOTION: Councillor C. Jones

"That the Manager will report on the status of the speed-limit indicator lights on the Lucan Road outside St Mary’s GNS and St. Joseph’s secondary school? And that she will comment on reports that the lights have not been in action for some time? Further that the manager will report on the frequency of Garda Speed Checks on this stretch of road."

REPORT:

The School zone speed limit signs clocks were out of order on two occassions and have been reset.  The sign will not function if the clocks are incorrectly set. The problem has been traced to a faulty mains Timer Unit.

A replacement has been ordered and will be fitted in the coming days.

The Gardai in Lucan will be asked to report on the frequence of speed checks and the reply will be forwarded to the Councillor when available.
