MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

"That this Committee compliments the Parks Department on the success of the exercise equipment installed in Parks in the Lucan Electoral Area, and asks if funding is available for the implementation of any further such projects in 2013?"

REPORT:

The provision of the outdoor exercise equipment in eleven parks throughout the county has proven to be very successful as evidenced by the amount of activity and use by people of all ages.  The parks within the Lucan Electoral Area where the equipment was installed are Griffeen Valley Park, Hermitage Park/Mount Andrew and Waterstown Park.  While there are no current plans to implement similar projects at other locations within the county, this will be reviewed in the event that funding becomes available.
