QUESTION NO. 3
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
To ask the Manager to provide an update on flood alleviation works regarding the River Poddle, particularly the planned increase in storage in Tymon Park, and to make a statement on the matter.
REPLY:
As you are aware it was agreed to prioritise the flood maps for the Camac and the Poddle Rivers under the EasternCFRAMS Study from the end of 2013 to June 2013 because of the number of houses that were flooded during the 24th October 2011 deluge. The Consultants, RPS, who are working on the EasternCFRAMS Study for the OPW and most of the Local Authorities in Leinster are planning to give a presentation to the Tallaght Councillors at the May ACM on the 27th May 2013 on the Poddle River followed by a Public Consultation Day in Tallaght Library on the 24th June 2013 for the general public, resident associations and all interested parties.
