QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

"To ask the Manager, noting Motion (2) of the Lucan Area Committee Meeting of 26th March 2013, and similar Motions passed by the Committee, if any further correspondence has been received from the Department of Social Protection and /or the Office of the Minister for State for the Office of Public Works on securing a site/building for an adequate Social Welfare Office in Lucan?" 

REPLY:

Arising from the Lucan Area Committee Meeting of the 26th March 2013, the serious concerns of the local Councillors at the lack of an adequate Social Welfare Office in Lucan was again referred to both the Minister for Social Protection and the Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform requesting them to update the Committee on the current position in the identification of a suitable premises to meet the needs of the Department of Social Protection in the Lucan Area. When a response is received the Committee will be notified accordingly.
