QUESTION NO. 3
QUESTION: Councillor M. McDonagh
To ask the Manager to provide a report on the issue of blocked drains and flooding in Liscarne Gardens following the recent heavy rains and to outline what work the Council intends to undertake to resolve this problem?
REPLY:
The reason for the blocked drains and sewers in Liscarne Gardens is grease coming from the local shops, pub and restaurants. South Dublin County Council has had to regularly drag and clean the sewers in this area and will do so again. Our Pollution Section is licensing all Food Service Establishments (FSEs) at the moment and will visit all the FSEs in this area again soon to make sure they are complying with their licenses.
