MOTION NO. 8

MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That the Manager present a report on (address number supplied) St Brigids Cottages, Clondalkin and explain how it is not considered to be derelict given the fact that it has a gaping hole in the roof.

REPORT:

This property was inspected on the 9th April 2013 for Derelict Sites purposes and was found to be non derelict within the definition of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.  The Area Engineer recommended that the roof tiles be repaired and gutters unblocked to prevent dereliction.  A letter will issue to the registered owners of the property requesting that these works be carried out forthwith.

This property was  inspected again on the 11th April, 2013 from a  Dangerous Places perspective and the Inspector reported that apart from a roof slate which has slipped from its original position and is now resting in the gutter, nothing was noted that posed a danger to the public.  The registered owners will  be written to requesting that they remove or reinstate the loose roof slate.

The photos and reports in the case of both inspections showed no evidence of a hole in the roof to the front facade of this property.
