MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

Cathaoirleach’s Business

"That the Roads Department would present a Report on the recent inspection by Council Engineers, accompanied by Councillors and representataives of LDAG, on footpath and accessibility and parking issues in Lucan Village for persons with a disability and if the report would include information on the dialogue which will be implemented with representatives of LDAG, Councillors and other parties on proposals being developed by the Council following the inspection."

REPORT:

On March 5^th, 2013, staff from the Roads Department met with Elected Members and members of the Lucan Disability Group. Matters of concern were pointed out and discussed. These included:

 the shortage of disabled parking spaces in the general Lucan Area;  the relocation and re-orientation of existing unsuitable spaces; suggested location for additional spaces; repairs to trip hazards on footpaths; relocation of a litter bin;

Traffic Section have been requested to review the issues raised and arrange for any necessary statutory approvals.
