COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, March 26, 2013
QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
"To ask the Manager for a report on (a) what has been done to provide public Taxi Ranks at Palmerston, as per my motions of June 2012 and Jan 2013, when I was promised that the situation would be considered as part of the the provision of Taxi Ranks, and (b) progress on the Lucan Taxi Rank?"
REPLY:
As reported in December, the provision of a public taxi rank in Palmerston is necessarily linked to the availability of suitable space. The Council is currently reviewing the Parking byelaws in the County and parking surveys are to be carried out shortly in the Palmerston area to determine available parking spaces for this review. This will inform any decisions made with respect to the location of a taxi rank. The results of this review will be brought to this meeting for discussion in this regard. This is still the case.
With regard to Lucan Village a date has to be agreed to discuss the submissions received in relation to the draft Bye Laws for the taxi rank in Lucan.
