MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

MOTION NO. 10

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

"That this Area Committee notes the concerns expressed at the recent Lucan Community Policing Forum regarding anti-social behaviour in certain local parks; thanks the Manager for the response to issues raised regarding the park at Ballyowen Lane opposite Ballyowen Square; and further requests the Manager to examine options to address ongoing concerns regarding anti-social behaviour at Willsbrook Park."

REPORT:

Willsbrook Park is considered to be relatively safe during park opening hours. The majority of anti-social behaviour reported to the Gardaí and the Council generally occurs outside of normal hours. The standard of maintenance overall is considered to be good with regular grass cutting and litter picking taking place. The park is not considered to have any significant problems relative to other parks and open spaces under maintenance in the county. The Environmental Services Department is happy and available to engage with any positive initiatives to improve Willsbrook Park and other parks under its control.
