COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (1)
Monday, March 25, 2013
MOTION NO. 4
MOTION: Councillor M. Duff
That this Committee calls on the Manager to ensure that householders or landlords who continually discard old household furniture, mattresses etc, in the front garden or driveway of their properties, are duly warned by the County Litter Wardens regarding the proper disposal of such items and fines issued in the cases where this warning is ignored.
REPORT:
Where any complaints are received in relation to waste furniture visible from a public place, the Litter Warden can issue a notice to request the owners to clean up the garden and dispose of the items to an authorised waste collector. If the notice is not complied with a fine will follow. This year to date 3 notices have been issued in the Tallaght area. Further action is being taken under the Waste Management Act 1996 as amended to request information as to how residents are generally disposing of their household waste.
