MOTION NO. 20
MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner
That the Manager present a report on the Valhalla facility on the Watery lane in Clondalkin with particular reference to accessibility to the site for residents with physical handicap. The footpaths outside the facility are narrow and in a bad state. There is poor visibility for pedestrians and if residents wish to use the bus service to the city centre they will find it very difficult to get across the road to the bus stop. What plans are in place to address these issues.
REPORT:
The Valhalla facility is on the south side of Watery Lane. There is no footpath on the north side at that point nor is the road wide enough to allow for a footpath without land acquisition. There is a signalised pedestrian crossing to the east at Áras Chrónáin.
For those wishing to access the area to the west (i.e. towards the Village) it is recommended that they use the facilities at the Orchard lane.
